Poor Captain Lucky, the raccoon that had his leg amputated, had to go through another small procedure.
There was a small abscess that created an opening in the incision so it needed to be drained, cleaned and re-sutured.
He will be inside for a few days and will receive a good dose of long lasting antibiotics and then in no time, he should be back outside causing havoc.
Captain Lucky is recovering from his injuries so well! Lucky had the misfortune to get his hind leg caught in an illegal snare trap.
Fortunately, he was found and treated at the Centre and although his leg needed to be amputated, he is doing remarkably and is healing quickly!
In the attached pictures one can see that his fur is growing back. He is climbing and doing the things any normal raccoon his age will do!
