These two little chipmunks arrived at Procyon Wildlife from Newmarket after getting themselves stuck on a glue trap. One little guy was stuck with his mouth directly on the trap, while the other was stuck on the side of his face. At first glance, it almost looked like his eye was stuck to the trap.
Thankfully, they made it to us quickly, and we were able to carefully free both of them using Eaze-Off spray. Once they were safely removed, we could properly assess them and give them the care they needed.
Please, never use glue traps. They are incredibly cruel and can cause severe injuries, stress, dehydration and even death to wildlife and other animals that accidentally come into contact with them.
If you have a wildlife problem, there are always safer and more humane options. Please reach out before setting a trap that could harm an innocent animal.
These two little ones were lucky to get a second chance.
