For our September issue, Jen Howard gives us an update on the animals in our care, and the ones that have been released! There is no greater joy in a wildlife rehabber’s heart than when an animal has been successfully rehabilitated and returned back to the wild! Jen Howard also provides advice on what to do should you find a wild animal in distress in her article, The Good, the Bad and the Beautiful.

In Some Like it Hot, Elizabeth Trickey discusses endothermic (cold-blooded) animals, such as snakes, turtles, frogs, skinks (our only lizard species in Ontario) and butterflies. You may remember Waldo the Toad who was discovered in a flower pot this past winter. He overwintered with us until it was safe to release him in the spring.
